Multi-sectoral teams joined hands for the benefit of Tnalak Coop members in Panabo City
More than a hundred cooperative members and their families of the Tnalak Multipurpose Cooperative received outpatient primary services from joint teams of Philhealth, Davao del Norte Hospital, tipon's Health and Safety Department, and the Asiapro Foundation last September 11.
The one-day event provided services at the Tnalak compound situated in Purok Cabili, Brgy. Quezon, Panabo City. The wide range of services included vital signs check, doctor's consultation, diet and nutrition counseling, eye checkup, blood extraction, glucose testing, minor surgery procedures, and free medicine and vitamins. But it was not just medical services that were brought closer to the community. Philhealth ID registration, issuance, amendment and records updating services were also offered. This was in keeping with the government’s implementation of Universal Health Care law to include all Filipinos under the national insurance program.
Free eye screening with reading glasses, and dispensing of adult vitamins are the Asiapro Foundation's supplemental support through its own Kaakbay sa Kalusugan Program. The Health and Safety Department of tipon Federation coordinated the entire activity.
The collaborative team is comprised of Ms. Khristin C. Tan, Ms. Mary Jean B. Bunquin and ten other PHIC staffs; the medical team of Davao Del Norte Hospital (Carmen Zone) headed by Dr. Emmy Lou P. Novo, with Ms. Cheryll Grace B. Salarda, and Ms. Jumelynn V. Anahao, hospital's chief nurse and nurse supervisor respectively. From the cooperative sector, Ms. Juvy Joy Bitayo of Asiapro Foundation and Ms. Joyce Carol Aguana of the HSD lend their supportive hands.
Tnalak MPC satellite operations head, Mr. Rico Basnillo who is also proudly from Carmen, Davao del Norte greatly expressed his appreciation to all the implementing partners during his message. He said that the activity encapsulates and puts into practice the Coop principles of being member centered and having the concern for others.
